Attorney Duties:
The position of an Attorney consists of representing The Fight 4 Light in criminal and civil litigation and other legal proceedings, drawing up legal documents, and advising clients on legal transactions. A knowledgeable attorney can identify issues, opportunities, and threats which allows founders to react appropriately as they plan the organizational and operational structures.
Tasks:

Drafting legally compliant governing documents (articles of incorporation, bylaws, conflict of interest policy) that also include desired best practices (e.g., compensation of executives), levels of indemnification (protection of directors, officers, employees, and others), and recommended references to applicable laws (e.g., electronic communications).

Educate your board members regarding their legal duties and responsibilities.

Educate your board members on corporate and tax law compliance.

Developing and operating programs that are consistent with 501(c)(3), other applicable laws, and your governing documents.

Providing confidence to your entire team that you are setting up the organization diligently with care.

Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents;

Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses

Advise on any legal matters

Qualifications and requirements:

Law degree, nonprofit law preferred;

Be licensed to practice law.

Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying and to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions;

Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions and persuade others to change their minds or behavior.
